The Best Bible Study Ever

We have recently attended "Foundations: Revival For Christ Ministries", a bible study course that aims to refresh the Christian faith. Ben Sieppart, the host of the course, said "...we believe this, but why do we believe in it? The course is a guide to help us find the answers from the Bible."

The night was lively and everyone was attuned and participative to the first lesson. Pastor Ben gave a summary of what will be covered and how will the course go. This bible study course will run every Thursday, 7 pm at his residence.

This course is open to everyone. It's non-denominational, so it doesn't matter what church you're from. Best of all, it is free.

For more information on the course, please call 780-524-6622 or email

Below are pictures that were taken during the bible study at Pastor Ben's residence.

The huge living room with cozy seats.

Everyone tried the espresso! (and it was really good!)

This painting says it all.

Feel good by getting a good start this New Year. WTSP.com has posted a video about an easy yet cheap way to stay fit.

Battle-Ready Valleyview

War is not good. However, one can't ignore marvelling some of those beautifully designed warships. MilitaryPhotos.Net is one of sites that has best photos taken, two of which are below:

Valleyview Power Plant

The last one is not a warship but you will notice the tower has similar battle-ready design. This is the photo of a natural gas-fired plant of ATCO Power in Valleyview. It provides system stability benefits for the Valleyview area and an important addition of capacity to meet Alberta’s growing power requirements.

According to their website, this station is an environmentally progressive, low nitrous oxide plant.

One things is for sure though. Valleyview is battle-ready for winter. Happy New Year to all!

Fundraising Event Held To Help Typhoon Victims In The Philippines

Recently celebrated in Valleyview was the 5th Multicultural Christmas Party held at the Paradise Inn & Suites last December 17th. It was a night of fun and laughter as each and everyone participated in the activities. Mayor of Valleyview Vern Lymburner was also there to grace the occasion. There wee 66 attendees that night.

On that same night, a devastating typhoon had been ravaging the Philippines. To date, the number of casualties has already reached the 1,000 mark and hundreds are still missing. This is considered the deadliest cyclone that hit the country in the last 12 years.

That night they were able to raise $288 CAD. It was donated to the Philippine Red Cross. The project was spearheaded by Grace De Luna.

For those who would want to help, Valleyview Happenings Team is accepting donations. Click on the 'Help Philippines' tab at the top.

Shop Wisely

Upon entering IGA-Valleyview Supermarket, I saw students piling up at the fruits section. I asked what's the buzz all about. They said that they have a school activity which aims to teach them to shop wisely. They were in the 10th grade at Hillside High School. Isn't that wonderful? I always buy this particular brand of soy milk that offers 75 cents off the regular price. I have obtained this coupon from cutting it painstakingly from the milk's container. I thought it's a good deal, only I forgot to bring it out when I paid.

Websaver.ca and Extreme Couponing Canada are some of the many sites that offer coupons. Be sure you check them out.

Something To Eat

Getting ready for your Christmas party? Visit our local groceries for ideas. I came across with this wonderful lady smiling at the Deli counter section of Co-Op Supermarket preparing a meat tray.

This looks delicious. It has three kinds of meat and three kinds of cheese.
